This quarter tends to be busy with end of the year events, sports games and testing. Please stay tuned to schedules through our constant contact. Next Tuesday begins our testing for writing and Wednesday Science AIMS for 8th grade.

This quarter tends to be a quarter of flexibility for teachers, students and parents as field trips are happening, testing happens and sports teams are playing ball. Please check with your student often to make sure that they have what they need when they miss class.
As we start to close out the first semester, we are starting to dwindle on some supplies. Our classroom could use some small cups for the students to use as there is not drinking fountain in the room. Thank you to everyone who has donated in the past.
In addition, the last day for the food drive is Dec. 3rd. We have also started our holiday outreach program. For more information, ask your students. We will deliver the gifts to families on December 14th after school. This week we are learning about mixtures. I thought it would be fun to make ice cream to end our first quarter together. I have asked students to volunteer to bring in the supplies. We will do this on Thursday, October 4th.
Thank you so much for all of the supplies you provided to the science classroom!
Hey everyone! I am so glad to be back for my 7th year of teaching eighth grade science. We will start out by getting to know each other and then jump in to assembling our notebooks the first full week. You do not need a binder for my class but instead our science department will provide a notebook for you. Please bring your tracker with you everyday and something to write with. All other materials should be left in your locker including phones.
The schedule has changed yet again. There will be no maps testing this next week or block schedule. We will resume a normal week except every Wednesday from here on out will be a full day. I will give new dates to the teaching groups on Monday.
Thank you so much to all families who provided gifts new and used for the families for our Holiday Outreach. The families were very thankful to be given so many gifts.
This Friday from 8:20 - 9:20 am an awards assembly will be held in the MPR. We hope to see you there!
If your student is absent, please make sure that they look to see what they missed. Sometimes labs are not able to be made up but an alternate assignment or reading will be given to understand the concept. Nothing really replaces the experience of being present in the classroom as I have crafted lessons with many aspects. They can at least copy the classroom notebook or take friends notes. Thanks!
